We are a referral service that connects homeowners in South Australia with licensed tradespeople. We do not perform, supervise or guarantee any building, trade or other work.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose and protect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
By using our website, submitting a form, emailing us, or interacting with our service, you agree to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this policy.
1. What personal information do we collect?
We collect only the personal information reasonably necessary to provide the referral service.
From homeowners (clients):
Full name
Email address
Phone number
Suburb or postcode
Job type and details (description, budget range, timeline)
Any additional information you voluntarily provide in the form or follow-up emails (e.g., photos, preferences)
From tradespeople:
Full name / business name
Email address
Phone number
Trade type(s)
Preferred suburbs / areas
CBS licence number and status
Public liability insurance details (certificate copy)
Google Business Profile / website link
Any additional information you provide during vetting or onboarding
Automatically collected:
Device and browser information (IP address, browser type, operating system)
Usage data (pages visited, forms submitted, time/date)
We do not collect:
Bank details
Credit card information
Sensitive information (health, criminal record, etc.) unless directly relevant to vetting and with your consent
2. How do we collect personal information?
Directly from you when you:
Submit the homeowner questionnaire
Submit the tradesperson preferences form
Email or call us
Sign a referral agreement (DocuSign)
Automatically via:
Google Forms submissions
Squarespace website analytics
Cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookies Policy below)
3. Why do we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information?
Primary purposes:
To match homeowners with suitable tradespeople
To operate and improve the referral service
To communicate with you about jobs, preferences, invoices, or the gift card draw
To vet tradespeople (licence, insurance, reputation checks)
To issue invoices and collect referral fees (Hiveage)
To comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax, record-keeping)
Secondary purposes:
To send service updates or reminders (with opt-out)
To generate anonymised statistics (e.g., number of jobs matched)
To defend or enforce legal rights (e.g., unpaid fees)
We will only use or disclose your information for a secondary purpose if it is related to the primary purpose and you would reasonably expect it, or if you have consented.
4. Who do we disclose personal information to?
We disclose personal information only when necessary to provide the service:
Homeowner details → disclosed only to the matched tradesperson (name, phone, email, job details) after the tradesperson has accepted our referral terms.
Tradesperson details → disclosed only to the matched homeowner (name, phone, email, business name) after vetting and agreement acceptance.
Service providers (limited, necessary only):
Google (Forms, Sheets, Drive) – data storage & processing
Squarespace – website hosting & Member Areas
Hiveage – invoicing & payment tracking
DocuSign – electronic agreements
Proton Mail – email communication
Up Bank – receipt of fees
Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights
We do not sell personal information. We do not disclose it to marketing companies or third parties for advertising.
5. How do we store and protect personal information?
Stored in secure Australian/EU-based cloud services (Google Workspace, Squarespace, Hiveage, DocuSign, Proton Mail)
Access restricted to Beau and authorised admin only
Password-protected Google account with 2-factor authentication
No unnecessary retention — data deleted on request or when no longer needed
Breach response — if a data breach occurs, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC as required by law
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
Access your personal information we hold (contact us)
Correct inaccurate information
Request deletion (where lawful and practicable)
Opt out of marketing emails (unsubscribe link in every email)
Complain about privacy handling (contact us first, then OAIC if unresolved)

We use minimal cookies for site functionality (Squarespace analytics).
No third-party advertising cookies.
Google Analytics (if enabled) collects anonymised usage data.
